Every car lovers out there are likely to hang out with other person of same interest, doesn't matter we know the person before or not before, the topic will always be about cars, spare parts, junkyard, and autoparts shop (and chicks too?). Another great experience to meet Ajis, a friendly guy who owns a superb condition Corolla KE20. Eventually, Ikhwan dropped by few minutes later with his mint condition Volkswagen Beetle. We had a long chat after that.
First thing that grabbed my attention, zenki side garnish from Corolla Levin TE27, complete with working difficult-to-get signal; and original KE20 jailbar grill.
Powering up this compact sedan is a 5K engine mated with 5-speed gearbox, complete with air-conditioning compressor to supply cool gas into cabin. Clean engine bay and yes, it is daily driven. Kuala Lumpur to Penang is now not a big problem.
I have to admit that KE20 has sexy bodyline in third-quarter rear portion too. Another aerodynamic element applied by Toyota engineers in 1971, to reduce the turbulence effect. Notice this kouki KE20 comes with larger taillight than zenki model.
Another rare item on this KE20, rubber mould which provides extra safety for the chrome bumper. Since the number of chrome bumper for Corolla E2 series is getting lesser day by day, I think it is a good idea to use them.
He then showed me the content of rear trunk, neat paint job and restoration. Judging from the content inside, I believe he is a DIY-lover.
Simulating his newly-acquired lowering block, to get the idea of new ride height level after installation. Hope to see the new look of this KE20 later.

ReplyDeleteKE20 senang carik brg, cuma kena bersabar sikit. Kena rajin tunggu iklan. Tapi kalu nak update facelift KE25/TE27 tu sakit sikit lah.brg2 enjin boleh kahwinkan dgn certain parts enjin 4K.
