SPOTTED: UTE FEVER

I know it is Pickup/UTE season where most of old-timers are looking for a platform to start with, since OMG 2012 (Olskool Mega Gathering) is getting closer. Meanwhile in KL with heavily congested traffic Saturday night, this lucky guy made every oldskool enthusiasts out there envy, by driving around his Mazda 1300, which was sitting low on SSR Casablanca. Nice ride man!

It is Friday again and we had a usual weekly gathering, managed to take some professional photoshoot session by Asrol Ardi (KE70 Coupe). I really admires his awesome job and the sets look stands out even at night. Kindly take your time and enjoy these photos.

If you guys wondering why I am so deeply into second generation Corolla Coupe (Mango), so this is the answer. This was the car that made me fall in love at first sight, and eventually this was one of the car that influenced drag scene in Miri few years back.

SPOTTED: CLEAN STOCK A40

During the last holiday, this was the car that catches my attention as I had to make a U-turn to get a closer look. As I approached the car, I was really impressed with the condition of this Celica A40 which is still in stock form, except a set of nice Magnum wheels which makes it 'tougher'

INFO: E IS ENOUGH

This is a good info for classic car drivers since we do not have specific fuel consumption meter. However, it is better to keep your tank filled more than half most of the time to reduce the fuel evaporation process.

FEATURE: FAIZ'S WICKED SR70

If I recall the yesteryear moments, this is the car that has a big impact in our study life. Started its life as an ‘uncle’ car after being swapped with a Corona TT132, Faiz decided to send this precious for chassis and panel restoration few months later. Since then, this KE70 DX spent more than a year in Banting for body restoration. It was a long journey where we had to drive few times from Malacca to Banting to catch up with the restoration progress.

Pickup truck by Honda? Yes it is. If you wondering, this Japanese automaker who is a success in producing sedan cars, used to come out with their kei trucks in 1977, the Acty.

SPOTTED: FORGOTTEN LIFTBACK

Who like an A40 liftback? Please raise your hand, honestly. I bet only 1 out of 10 oldskool Celica lovers is interested on this model. It is truly forgotten, due to its 'uncle' design in stock form. But, the owner of this A40 should be proud to own this masterpiece, which is still in a perfect shape and line. Only the replacement of broken right tail light will be a nightmare.

FEATURE: HOMOLOGATION GTX

I have to admit that I am not a big fan of Mazda (excluding the RX series), but this 323 GTX really caught my attention during the last celebration visit. It is the fifth generation of Familia/323 for Japan market with B6 engine producing 140ps under the hood. Quite a surprising horsies for a sedan in 1985 right?
